Broadway shows run a balancing act of making as much money as they can and keep their show running. They do not have a great deal of flexibility in their regular ticket pricing models, so they resort to distributing discount codes for selected performances where they expect unsold seats. They would rather make $5000 with a full theatre than make $6000 with half of the seats empty. This is because when the show has problems getting an audience it reduces its lifespan on Broadway, even if the dollar receipts are strong. Empty theatres also de-motivate the performers and the backstage people. The discount codes are generally for the non-peak shows or when the show has been on Broadway for a while. The discounts can vary from 25% to 90%.

New York TV Show Tickets

New York TV Show Tickets Inc. is a New York based discount broker that negotiates special discounts for the general public for services in New York City, including Broadway shows, TV Shows, Parking, restaurants, and movie shoots in New York. For a small fee, they sell online guides filled with this discount information. The Discount Broadway Ticket Guide can be found on nytix.com

Restrictions and Broadway discounts

Broadway theaters reserve the right to place restrictions on the use of discount codes when purchasing tickets. In some cases they decide to exercise this right. We usually see most restrictions on discounts around the Xmas / New Year holidays and various official holidays. Occasionally a Broadway show may exclude Saturday night, but these are usually only the top shows and the exclusion is most often short-lived. When you call the ticket sales number, they can give you the very latest discount code restrictions (If any) applicable to that Broadway show.

How to avoid paying the Ticketmaster or Telecharge fees

You can avoid the fees by taking the codes from Ticket Guide directly to the box office and buying your tickets there.

The problem is, how do you know if any tickets are available for the show you want and will the codes be honored for the show you want before going there?

A few people call Ticketmaster or Tele-Charge first to find out those details but they do not actually buy tickets from them. This is one way to be certain that there are no restrictions on the discount code for the date you want to use it. But, between the hours you make the call and actually are going there, there is always the possibility that the tickets could have been sold out.

How to receive your Broadway tickets

Precisely the same way you would get a regular priced ticket: You can pick it up at the box office or have it mailed to you. It is a standard ticket – just discounted!

The Phantom of the Opera continues its reign as the most successful musical ever brought to the stage. The revenues from this beloved show have surpassed the amazing results of even “The Titanic”. From the very beginning, this show was performed to packed crowds of adoring fans who used every connection possible to wangle one or two Phantom of the Opera tickets. This powerhouse production has already generated revenues of more than $3 billion dollars and there seems to be no end in sight if audiences have their say.

The Broadway run for this entertainment giant was a phenomenal event that set many attendance and box office records. Now the show has become a spectacular as Vegas production and it continues to be an impressive favorite of theatre audiences. Night after night, there are capacity crowds breathlessly waiting for to witness the brilliant performances and staging that have made the Phantom of the Opera the recipient of top Las Vegas awards. In 2006, it was named by Las Vegas Review-Journal as the number 1 hit show, and in 2007, it was named to Las Vegas Top Ten Shows list. American Idol even featured this successful show as part of their 2008 season series.

The Real Story of Erik, the Man behind the Phantom’s Mask

The original Phantom of the Opera story is one of the great classics of literature and is a love story unlike many others. This book was written by a French writer, Gaston Leroux, and published during the early years of the 20th century. This is a compelling tale of mystery, relationships, and unrequited love that never fails to capture the imagination of the readers. The Phantom’s name is Erik and he is a musical genius who is horribly disfigured and seeks to hide from the world. He is also someone whom audiences both fear and cheer. Thanks to Leroux, the anguish and emotional pains suffered by Erik are described clearly enough to provide a great deal of insight into his thoughts and actions. It is hard not to have sympathy for this unfortunate character. He falls in love with the beautiful Christine while helping her become a superb singer. Erik tries to win Christine’s heart through charm and then force and these are some of the most emotionally powerful scenes in the book and on stage.

A $40 Million Dollar Paris Opera House

In Las Vegas, you are able to use your Phantom of the Opera tickets for admittance to the custom designed $40 million dollar theatre built just for this event. You find yourself transported from the modern day world into that of the Phantom. Audiences are enchanted with every detail of the setting and atmosphere. This magnificent theatre is the Paris Opera House and the breathtaking realism of the sets increase the wondrous beauty of the play. The chandelier scene alone make you want to jump to your feet and applaud. This brilliantly produced show dazzles everyone with the amazing acting, singing and special illusions that can only be seen in this setting. Even the poignant and mysterious finale is a fitting climax that brings tears to the eyes of many audience members.

This 95-minute creative masterpiece is a not to be missed event that introduces Las Vegas audiences to the Phantom of the Opera as it was meant to be seen. The creative team members include many of the individuals who worked on the Phantom’s debut, including Andrew Lloyd Webber and Hal Prince. Fans are also glad to discover that the Venetian’s production also features every one of the beautiful and mesmerizing songs from the original Broadway run.

The Lion King tickets have been in-demand in a big way for nearly 10 years, and this emerging all-time classic has captured the hearts of millions of fans all over the world. The original Disney film classic won awards for several reasons, and this led to the on-stage production being produced and introduced to discerning thespians. The stage show has been just as successful, and a look at the story will show why the story is not only timeless, but also appropriate for the whole family.

The Story

The Lion King is set on the plains of Africa, and the main character is Simba, a young lion cub who is someday going to take over the throne for his father, Mufasa. Simba is a happy, curious cub who’s a bit precocious by nature, and sometimes his curiosity gets the better of him.

Simba also has a rival in the plot in the form of his extremely jealous brother, Scar. Scar wants nothing more than to be the Lion King himself, and he plots to usurp the throne. Scar pursues this plan by arranging a stampede that tragically kills Mufasa, and then Scar deviously convinces Scar that their father’s death was Simba’s fault.

Simba is crestfallen by this “realization,” and decides to run away from home. This development is especially heartbreaking because Simba leaves behind two characters who were very close to him in his mother, Sarabi and his best friend, Nala.

Simba eventually encounters a warthog named Pumbaa and a meerkat named Timon, and he spends the rest of his childhood with them. Simba eventually grows older and stronger, and one day, his long-lost friend Nala. Nala tells Simba that Scar has succeeded in his plot and has become the Lion King. Nala further convinces Simba that he needs to return to his roots and challenge Scar for the throne. We’d tell you how the story is resolved, but you’d be much better-served by securing The Lion King tickets for yourself to see this classic in-person.

Production History

The original stage production opened in Minneapolis in 1997, and after early and tremendous success, the show moved to Broadway in October of that same year. The play has been running continuously there ever since. The Lion King has also enjoyed long-standing runs in London, Toronto and Sydney.

Overall, the musical has won six Tony Awards, and The Lion King tickets continue to be an enormous draw in theaters all over the world.

Mamma Mia! tickets have been in huge demand since the show opened in London in 1999, and it’s taking the rest of the world by storm because of its unique combination of classic Broadway-style storytelling and upbeat dancing music of the 1970’s. Mamma Mia! is part play, part musical and part concert, and the element of fantasy behind the entire production makes it all come together neatly.

About the Story

The story centers on a woman named Sophie, who has grown up never knowing who her real father was. Her mother, Donna, refuses to tell her, and Sophie decides to find out for herself before she gets married on a fictional Greek island, where the play is set.

Sophie goes about discovering her father by digging into Donna’s diary, and she discovers stories of extremely intimate dates with three men: Harry Bright, who is a banker and typical “nerd,” Bill Austin, and over-the-top Australian, and Sam Carmichael, who as it turns out had an affair with Donna while he was engaged to another woman.

Sophie can’t figure out from the diary who her father could be, so she decides to invite all of them to her wedding. Each of them decides to attend, and their characters are introduced separately. The characters are quirky in nature, and each offers a small piece of personality present in Sophie.

Sophie initially thinks that Bill is her father, as he had a rich Aunt Sophia who left the family a lot of money. Donna also states cryptically that Sophie is named after “Sophia,” and that seals the deal in Sophie’s mind. She asks Bill to give her away at her wedding.

However, Harry and Sam find out what’s happening and confront the situation collectively. It is here that Mamma Mia! tickets gain a level of intrigue, as the “mystery” is actually far from solved.

We’d love to tell you how things turn out, but if we did, you’d miss out on a completely unexpected ending, and you’d also miss out on the source of the “flavor” of the entire production.

Production Details

Not only is Mamma Mia! set on a fictional Greek Island, but what should be a classic romance story is spiced up in a big way by the music of ABBA. ABBA was one of the most successful bands of the 1970’s, and their songs liven up several scenes throughout the play. Not only do the songs appear, but the story itself is built around them, seamlessly woven into the fabric of the plot.

You won’t know if you’re at a concert or a musical, but you will be engaged by the story and you may even find yourself dancing a bit in your seat. You wouldn’t be alone. It is estimated by many that over 20 million people have seen this production worldwide, and now it’s coming back to the United States. If you want mystery, fantasy and good music all in one entertainment experience, you need to secure Mamma Mia! tickets now.

If you purchase Wicked tickets, you’re probably in for a bit of déjà vu. You’ll swear you know the story, but it’ll all seem new to you for some reason. The characters will be familiar, but the plot will be original. Regardless, millions of thespians around the world have lined up to see this play, and the story is an adaptation from a timeless film classic.

About the Plot

Wicked is an expansion of the story made famous in the film “The Wizard of Oz” from 1939. It explores the possibility that the infamous Wicked Witch of the West was a misunderstood character, and the play itself is set in a time before Dorothy arrives from Kansas to help conquer the evil character that appears in the film.

It seems that, according to the writers of the musical, the Wicked Witch of the West has actually been victimized by events out of her control. She was named Elphaba at birth, and she was born illegitimately to her mother and a traveling salesman. The salesman sells a green drinking potion that her mother drinks, and this results in Elphaba having the green skin everyone knows from the movie.

Elphaba’s father rejects her because of her skin color, and he insists that her mother chew milk flowers while pregnant with their next child. As a result, Elphaba’s younger sister, Nessarose, is born with crippled legs and needs attention. Naturally, her father sees this as Elphaba’s fault.

The two grow up together and are sent to the university, but their father makes it clear that the only reason Elphaba is going is to help her sister. Once there, Elphaba is paired with Galinda, the “good” witch from the film, and although the two do not get along at first, they eventually form a bit of a friendship. As they study together, it is revealed that Elphaba possesses incredible powers, and she is seen as a prodigy.

This makes Galinda jealous, and the two friends distance themselves from each other. At this point, Wicked tickets begin to have a familiar feel, as the “plot” that uncovers the true nature of the Wizard of Oz is revealed.

It seems that the Wizard of Oz wants to remove the power of communication from the kingdom’s animals, and he tests Elphaba a bit to measure her ability and her loyalty. Galinda catches wind of Elphaba’s favor with the wizard, and jealousy sets in. She charms her way into the powerful inner circle of Oz, and rumors of Elphaba’s “wickedness” begin to swirl. Soon, the entire kingdom is told of her penchant for evil, and Elphaba is banished to solitude.

Of course, the ending contains many surprises, but we don’t want to spoil it for you. You really need to see this play for yourself, as it “ties in” all the stories that surround the classic movie.

Success

Wicked was and is one of the most successful plays of all time. It began to run in October of 2003, and grossed more than $50 million in its first year on stage. The show has also won three Tony Awards, six Drama Desk Awards, an Eddy Award and a Grammy Award, among others.

If you want to see a play with drama, humor, sorrow, tragedy and intricate and exciting plot twists, Wicked tickets are the way to go.
